In Little Rock’s 2013 Life Chain, participants quietly line blocks of Chenal Parkway in west Little Rock. The 2014 event is planned for Oct. 5 across the state.

The first Sunday in October is Respect Life Sunday in Catholic churches across the diocese, and it is also the weekend for the national annual Life Chains across Arkansas. Nationally, the life chains are devoted to prayer and are peaceful. In 2013, more than 1,500 towns held life chains. All events are held from 2-3:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
