Catholic teachers honored on Professional Day

Superintendent gives plaques, gifts to teachers with 25 years in Catholic education

Catholic school principals and teachers convened at Christ the King Church in Little Rock Sept. 25 for Professional Day. As part of the day’s events, Superintendent Vernell Bowen announced that eight educators were celebrating 25 years with Catholic schools.

They were given an award and gift at the end of Mass: Linda Firestone-Pinto, St. Theresa School, Little Rock (left); Alice Jones, Mount St. Mary Academy, Little Rock; Ileana Dobbins, Our Lady of the Holy Souls School, Little Rock; Marilyn Lenggenhager, Mount St. Mary Academy, Little Rock; and Michelle Ganoung, St. Vincent de Paul School, Rogers.

Also honored but not present were Jeff Shachmut, St. Joseph School, Conway; Jim Jones, Trinity Junior High, Fort Smith; and Katherine Etris, Sacred Heart School, Morrilton.
