While the Catholic population is about 5 percent in the state, these nine counties have higher-than-average Catholic populations. Arkansas Catholic gathered this list from parish statistics and county totals from the U.S. Census Bureau in 2014.
1. Washington: 13.6 percent, with parishes in Fayetteville, Lincoln, Springdale, Tontitown and Winslow
2. Conway: 12.4 percent, with parishes in Center Ridge, Morrilton, Oppelo (Adona) and Saint Vincent (Hattieville)
3. Benton: 10 percent, with parishes in Bella Vista, Bentonville, Rogers and Siloam Springs
4. Yell: 9.6 percent, with parishes in Danville and Dardanelle
5. Sebastian: 9.2 percent, with parishes in Barling, Fort Smith, Hartford and Jenny Lind
6. Sevier: 8.8 percent, with a parish in De Queen
7. Randolph: 7.7 percent, with parishes in Engelberg and Pocahontas
8. Pulaski: 6.8 percent with parishes in Jacksonville, Little Italy, Little Rock and North Little Rock
9. Logan: 6.2 percent, with parishes in Booneville, Morrison Bluff, New Blaine (Shoal Creek), Paris, Prairie View, Ratcliff, Scranton and Subiaco
