The Little Rock Theology Institute completed its final year with the graduation of 13 students. At the conclusion of the final class June 2, Mass was celebrated and certificates of completion were handed out to 13 students.

They are Amanda Crawford of Immaculate Conception Church, North Little Rock; Dot Fair and Muriel Carmichael, both of St. Jude Church, Jacksonville; Mary Haney and Roger Haney, both of St. Joseph Church, Fayetteville; Megan Mayeux of St. Mary Church, Altus; David Peters of St. Mary Church, Hot Springs; Agnes Tirrito of St. Edward Church, Texarkana; Michael Little and Salvador Gonzalez, both of St. John Church, Russellville; Michael Rasmussen of St. Joseph Church, Conway; Jeffrey Hines of Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Barling; and Bill Mabrey of Christ the King Church, Little Rock.

For three years they committed one weekend a month to lectures and given personal time to reading and study. They have learned from local and national teachers as certified by St. Gregory’s and Newman universities.

In January the diocese announced it was closing the program after 22 years because of declining enrollment.
