Arkansas Catholic hiring for associate editor position

Arkansas Catholic seeks an associate editor for its publications. The associate editor contributes stories and photos to the Diocese of Little Rock weekly newspaper and website.

The associate editor is a key team member who writes news articles and features and takes photographs for each issue, coordinates “Seeds of Faith” religious education pages for each issue and processes and posts content to www.arkansas-catholic.org weekly.

The ideal candidate is Catholic and has:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in a journalism field.
At least two years of experience working in the newspaper or magazine industry.
Experience with and understanding of leading digital media platforms and web analytics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace/G Suite applications. Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Wordpress experience preferred.
Excellent writing, communication and proofreading skills.
Proficiency in written English. Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency preferred.
Photography experience.

This full-time position includes competitive pay and benefits. This position requires working from the Arkansas Catholic office at St. John Center in Little Rock.
