Kenny Taylor, a member of Christ the King Church in Fort Smith, made temporary vows as a member of Subiaco Abbey Feb. 2 at the abbey church.
During vespers Taylor presented his written and signed petition to Abbot Jerome Kodell, OSB, who then welcomed his public profession of monastic vows for three years. Reflecting the change in his state of life, the abbot assigned him a new name, Brother Basil. After three years, Brother Basil will be eligible to make his final, perpetual vows.
