Dinner for Legacy Society in Morrilton

The Sacred Heart School Endowment Fund hosted a dinner in Morrilton April 24 for the members of the Legacy Society. The Legacy Society, which began in 2013 with 28 founding members, recognizes and honors those who have made a lasting commitment of any size by including charitable gifts to the Endowment Fund in their estate plans. The event was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

Director of development Alisha Koonce provided an endowment update to the group. Special recognition was given to two funds that will make their first distribution to the school this year: The Clem & Delores (DeSalvo, ’58) Hartman Teacher Appreciation Fund will provide bonuses to teachers, and the Drew Bottoms (’14) Memorial Fund will make a gift toward this year’s development campaign projects.

The Cole Hill (’01) and Carl Hill Memorial Fund and Class of 1981 funds continue to growth and are on track to reach their funding goals. The Carl and Christine Thines Tuition Assistance fund will makes its third consecutive distribution for tuition assistance. This year, nearly $43,000 will directly benefit the school from the endowment.
