St. Joseph School in Conway recognized several faculty and staff members for their service. Fellow faculty voted for one teacher from each campus to receive the school’s “Golden Apple” award as Teachers of the Year. Chosen this year were high school consumer science teacher Monica Lieblong, middle school math, science and social studies teacher Nicole Gooch and elementary school librarian Myra Book.
Those honored for their dedication and years of employment included high school librarian Karen Wilson, 40 years; high school academic dean and counselor Teri Breeding, 20 years; elementary school librarian Myra Book, 25 years; middle school administrative assistant Amy Heathscott, five years; athletic director and girls basketball coach Chris Kordsmeier, 25 years; consumer science teacher Monica Lieblong, 10 years; development director Nicole Rappold, five years; school bookkeeper Cathy White, five years; and preschool aide Linda Kordsmeier, five years; Spanish teacher Jerry Bass, 14 years, boys basketball coach Brent Bruich, 20 years; food services director Jeff Crowder, five years; high school English teacher Kathleen Gueringer, five years; and middle school religion, social studies, reading and spelling teacher Melanie Kordsmeier, 20 years.
