In September, Arkansas Catholic wrote about St. Theresa parishioner Adriana Vidals, a married mother with three children, who was diagnosed in July 2015 with acute myeloid leukemia. She was told in order to live, she would need a bone marrow transplant and a bone marrow drive was held at both St. Theresa and St. Edward churches in Little Rock Oct. 3. Family friend and bone marrow drive organizer Dennis Hoover told Arkansas Catholic that Vidals had her bone marrow transplant in April. Her sister from Mexico was a full match and traveled to the United States on a medical visa, which Hoover said was “a true blessing from God.”
“The outlook is great, but the doctors have a 100-day window to make sure the transplant is going well,” Hoover said and thanked everyone for “your continued prayers.”
