Families at Blessed Sacrament School in Jonesboro reached out to Louisiana flooding victims after several relatives and friends of the families were affected by the flood waters. The PTO organized a collection of needed items. These donations were to go to victims in the Ascension Civil Parish in south Louisiana. Tara Babin, a school parent who has several family members who lost their homes and belongings, also was instrumental in organizing what was needed.
The collection only lasted for five days, but because parents and students brought necessary items each morning the PTO had to do a pick up every day. These donations will mostly go to churches in the area.
