St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro has received national certification in total hip and knee replacement. The programs have earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval, a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to patient care.
St. Bernards underwent a rigorous on-site review, and Joint Commission experts evaluated compliance with national disease-specific care standards as well as with total hip and total knee replacement specific requirements. Clinical practice guidelines and performance measures also were assessed.
The St. Bernards joint replacement programs were the first in the state to receive this disease-specific accreditation from Joint Commission. The medical center also is the only facility in Arkansas to have received certification for both hip and knee replacement programs for three consecutive two-year periods.
