Mercy Hospital Fort Smith opened a larger Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center in January. The new center is across from the hospital at 7306 Rogers Avenue in Fort Smith. The new location doubles the space of the center to 8,200 square feet to accommodate the growing demand for wound care services. A $450,000 remodel of the center allows for additional treatment space, specialized equipment and rooms. Non-healing wounds can result from diabetes, immobilization, poor circulation, pressure or other conditions and healing may be compounded by other health issues.
