St. Joseph groundbreaking

Published May 12, 2017

St. Joseph Church in Conway held an official  groundbreaking and site blessing ceremony May 4 for the construction of a two-story, 42,000-square-foot multi-purpose building. It will replace three older buildings, one of which was erected in 1926. Two of them have already been demolished and the third will come down when the new structure is completed in July 2018.

Bishop Anthony B. Taylor led the ceremony. Other clergy included pastor Father Tony Robbins and former pastor and associate pastors Father John Marconi and Father Robert Cigainero. Parish leaders, city and county officials, including Mayor Bart Castleberry and Judge Jim Baker, and representatives from H&N Architects and Nabholz Construction, were also on hand. Due to inclement weather, the event was moved into the church foyer.
