One Catholic high school student and two Catholic school teachers were awarded the Stephens Award by The City Education Trust April 24 in Little Rock.
Thomas Howe, a senior at Catholic High School and member of Immaculate Conception Church in North Little Rock, is the son of Dr. Laurence J. Howe and the late Karen Gangluff Howe. Howe will receive a $5,000 scholarship.
The winning teachers included Edward Dodge, an English and literature teacher at Catholic High School, and Marcella Melandri, a biology and Spanish teacher at Mount St. Mary Academy. Dodge and Melandri each received an $8,000 cash award.
