Three students of St. Joseph School in Conway were among area high school seniors who were recognized at Academic Signing Day May 8. The event is sponsored annually by the Acxiom Corporation and was held at the University of Central Arkansas.
Amber Briggler, Hunter Trussell and Rachel Prall were honored for their academic success. The students chosen from Conway, St. Joseph and Conway Christian high schools each had to have a 3.8 GPA and be recognized in one of five areas: be the recipient of a top scholarship from the four-year college/university they planned to attend, be a National Merit Finalist or Scholar, be accepted at a U.S. Military Service Academy, be selected as a winner of a state or national scholarship program, or be the recipient of the Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship or Governor’s Scholarship.
Trussell will be attending Hendrix College in Conway on $142,000 in scholarships from Hendrix along with a $40,000 Arkansas Distinguished Scholars Award. Briggler was awarded a $24,000 Achievement Scholarship to attend UCA. Prall will be attending Arkansas Tech University at Russellville on a $16,000 Academic Excellence Scholarship.
