The Catholic Fine Arts Council of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas invites artists to enter a new regional art exhibit titled "Duc in Altum: Put Out Into the Deep." Religious artists are encouraged to submit their artwork for consideration online at http://www.catholicfinearts.org/entry. Entry deadline is Tuesday, Aug. 1. Accepted artists will have their artwork on display at the Savior Pastoral Center in Kansas City, Kan. Winning artists will receive cash prizes.
Competition juror is Dr. Denis R. McNamara, an architectural historian specializing in American church architecture. He is an assistant director at the Liturgical Institute of the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary, and serves as a liturgical design consultant.
This juried competition and exhibition primarily seeks to foster the arts of the Western Christian Tradition. Other artistic traditions of Christian subject matter will be considered also.
