Join a pilgrimage Sept. 22-23 from Arkansas to Oklahoma City for the beatification of Father Stanley Rother, recognized by Pope Francis as the first American-born martyr.
Our own Bishop Anthony B. Taylor was the episcopal delegate for Father Rother’s sainthood cause in Oklahoma City before he came to Arkansas.
The Beatification Mass will be celebrated by Cardinal Angelo Amato, prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23. Bishop Taylor will concelebrate.
Hosted by Arkansas Catholic, the pilgrimage begins when our bus leaves St. John Center in Little Rock at 8 a.m. Friday with a stop in Van Buren to pick up additional passengers. We return to Arkansas Saturday after the Mass.
Cost is $115 per person for a pilgrimage ticket, which includes admission to the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, Saturday lunch and transportation, plus $100 per hotel room (up to four people). A $25 single supplement is required if you will occupy a hotel room alone.
Seats are limited. The deadline to register and pay is Aug. 30 unless sold out earlier. Register online at https://okcpilgrimage.eventbrite.com.
