50 men in class represent all ages and parts of diocese

St. Vincent de Paul Church in Rogers is represented the most in this year's diaconate formation class with four candidates. Represented with three candidates each are Immaculate Conception, Fort Smith; St. Edward, Little Rock; and St. Joseph, Fayetteville.

The Anglo class ranges in age from 38 to 67 years old. The Hispanic class ranges in age from 36 to 60 years old.

Nearly half of the men hail from northwest Arkansas, but the candidates represent the four other regions of the state as well.

22 men come from northwest Arkansas: 12 Spanish and 10 English.

12 men come from central Arkansas: one Spanish and 11 English.

6 men come from southwest Arkansas: three Spanish and three English.

4 men come from southeast Arkansas: one Spanish and three English.

4 men come from northeast Arkansas: two Spanish and two English.

The English-speaking class will include:

Douglas Adams, 49, a member of St. Joseph Church in Conway. He is married to Lisa Adams.

Charles Ashburn, 42, a member of the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock. He is married to Juliann Ashburn.

Timothy Costello, 48, a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary in North Little Rock (Marche). He is married to Sandy Costello.

Norman De Briyn, 67, and Mike Henry, 65, members of St. Joseph Church in Fayetteville. DeBriyn is married to Caroline DeBriyn. Henry is married to Nancy Henry.

John Drake, 61, a member of St. Mary Church in Paragould. He is married to Kem Drake.

Gerald Dunlap, 55, a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Benton. He is married to Kathy Dunlap.

David Evans, 59, a member of St. Mary Church in Arkadelphia. He is married to Linda Evans.

David French, 49, and Timothy Sampolesi, 48, members of Our Lady of the Lake Church in Lake Village. French is married to Karen French. Sampolesi is married to Janie Sampolesi.

Ernesto Gallegos, 49, a member of St. Jude Church in Jacksonville. He is married to Ann Gallegos.

John Hall III, 49, and Daniel Hartnedy, 38, members of St. Edward Church in Little Rock. Hall is married to Theresa Hall. Hartnedy is married to Stephanie Hartnedy.

Ronald Hoyt, 46, St. Vincent De Paul Church in Rogers. He is married to Sharon Hoyt.

Thomas Jakobs, 51, a member of Christ the King Church in Fort Smith. He married to Diane Jakobs.

Butch King, 55, a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Little Rock. He is married to Debbie King.

Charles Kuehl, 49, a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith. He is married to Liz Kuehl.

Brian Lachowsky, 52, a member of St. Mary Church in Altus. He is married to Martha Lachowsky.

Stephen Mallett, 58, a member of Sacred Heart Church in Morrilton. He is married to Barbara Mallett.

Hank Matthew, 66, a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Hot Springs Village. He is married to Kay Matthew.

Norman McFall, 51, a member of St. Joseph Church in Pine Bluff. He is married to Laura McFall.

Connie Oslica, 47, a member of St. Boniface Church in New Dixie. He is married to Lesley Oslica.

Michael Rector, 58, a member of Christ the King Church in Little Rock. He is married to Roz Rector.

Mark Scouten, 55, a member of Mary Mother of God Church in Harrison. He is married to Elisabeth Scouten.

Robert Standridge, 52, a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Hot Springs. He is married to Paula Standridge.

Isidro Godoy, 41, and Raul Velazquez, 43, members of St. Augustine Church in Dardanelle. Godoy is married to Rebeca Godoy. Velazquez is married to Maria de la Luz Velazquez.

Carlos Guzman, 59, Ramon Ramirez Fernandez, 40, and Hector Garcia Sanchez, 57, members of Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro. Guzman is married to Virginia Guzman. Ramirez is married to Rosa Ramirez. Garcia is married to Adelina Garcia.

Angel Guzman Jr., 55, a member of St. Edward Church in Texarkana. He is married to Maria del Carmen Guzman.

Domingo Antonio Lopez, 58, a member of St. Michael Church in Van Buren. He is married to Mercedes Cristina Lopez.

Jose Guadalupe Luebanos, 43, a member of Holy Redeemer Church in El Dorado. He is married to Candelaria Luebanos.

Jose Guadalupe Prieto, 54, a member of St. Peter Church in Pine Bluff. He is married to Maria del Rosario Prieto.

Ricardo Puello, 49, a member of St. Mary Church in Paragould. He is married to Maria Guadalupe Puello.

Elias Rangel Flores, 37, a member of St. Anne Church in Berryville. He is married to Maria del Carmen Flores.

Israel Sanchez, 40, a member of St. Barbara Church in DeQueen. He is married to Norma Alicia Sanchez.

J. Guadalupe Torres, 41, a member of Holy Redeemer Church in Clarksville. He is married to Hortensia Torres.

Efrain Vargas, 52, a member of St. Edward Church in Little Rock. He is married to Maria Vargas.

Marcelino Vazquez Diaz, 36, a member of St. Joseph Church in Fayetteville. He is married to Maria Guadalupe Vazquez.

Cesar Augusto Villafranca, 42, and Aroldo Jonas Zacaria, 48, members of Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith. Villafranca is married to Hilda Xiomara Villafranca. Zacarias is married to Nora E. Zacaria.

Salvador Zavala, 60, a member of St. Mary Church in Siloam Springs. He is married to Leticia Zavala.
