Each year Arkansas Catholic's issues are bound into a hard-backed volume. Each book is like a time capsule, summarizing the Catholic news and opinions of the day.
Beginning with the April 9 issue, Arkansas Catholic will begin a new 33-part series called "Time Capsule." A story in each issue will give an overview of news articles and opinion pieces that were published in the pages of The Southern Guardian, The Guardian and Arkansas Catholic.
The first article will cover stories that appeared in issues from 1911 to 1913. Each subsequent issue through 2011 will include a story covering a three-year span in news from the diocese, nation and world.
The articles will be researched and written by editor Malea Hargett and associate editor Phyllis Hemann.
