Bishop makes statement on same-sex court ruling

Bishop Anthony B. Taylor issued this brief statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court's June 26 ruling on same-sex marriage.

“In a 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that the U.S. Constitution requires a state to license a marriage between two people of the same sex. The president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Ky., has issued a statement on the court’s decision, and I fully support Archbishop Kurtz’s opinions as expressed in that statement.”
