Florencia “Flo” Bruzatori-Mullins, 30, shares her faith through music. As a married mother of three children — Mateo, 6, Isabella, 3, and Nico, 9 months — she encourages bursting into song as a means of communication in her home. An Argentinian native who moved to the United States with her parents at 16, Bruzatori-Mullins has dedicated her life to singing in the choir at St. Anne Church in North Little Rock.
While she enjoys being a Vincentian Lay Missioner and an assistant religious education teacher, singing is most meaningful.
“You can sing through prayer, and to me, it’s one of the most powerful things that you can do,” she said. “When I sing, it just runs through my whole body.”
Seeing the power that a song can have on someone has been rewarding.
“There have been a few times where we were approached after Mass by somebody that was having a hard day, or something was going on in their life, and we just happened to sing a song that touched them,” said Bruzatori-Mullins, who became a U.S. citizen July 26. “They’re in tears just because we chose that song on that day, and it really gave them hope.”
At the end of the day, being a mom drives her church involvement.
“My hope is that it will help strengthen their faith and that I can be a positive role model for them,” she said.
• What or who makes you laugh? Why?
“My kids; No matter how difficult the day might have been, they are so innocent and full of energy. It’s a mom thing. They always make me smile.”
