Father Tony Robbins, pastor at St. Joseph Church in Conway, incenses a poster where parishioners were invited to write down names of their deceased loved ones ahead of the Nov. 1 bilingual All Saints Day Mass.
A Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, altar was set up beside the poster for photos of loved ones. Prayers were offered up for the deceased at the end of Mass and a reception was held in the parish hall.
The parish’s Hispanic Ministry prepared the altar and reception, with assistance from Beacon of Hope Ministry for the bereaved.
