Christ the King, Little Rock
Assigned to: Christ the King, Little Rock
Employment: Senior vice president, bank technology director
Wife: Kim
How did you hear your calling to become a deacon? My wife and I have formed wonderful relationships over the past 28 years with holy men and women, including Deacon Bo and Vicki McAllister, Deacon Don and Jan Greenway and Deacon Mike and Roz Rector. Their friendship and witness to the faith have kept the idea of the diaconate present to me for many years. It was Bishop Francis I. Malone who encouraged me to step forward into the discernment process.
What ministries are you currently involved in? Marriage Encounter, Men of Faith, extraordinary minister of the Eucharist, RCIA
Who have been the biggest influences in your diaconate formation? Kim and our six children have been a constant source of encouragement to me throughout my formation. Kim and I were fortunate to begin the diaconate discernment process with Deacon Butch and Debbie King. Deacon Butch was a wonderful example of a servant’s heart until his death in August 2020 and Debbie’s continued service to the diaconate program since his death has been an inspiration to me. Bishop-elect Erik Pohlmeier and Deacon Mike and Roz Rector also continually demonstrate the joy that comes from a life dedicated to serving the Lord.
