Patient information

Published April 24, 2014

Soon St. Bernards patients in Jonesboro will be able to get direct online access to their health information.

St. Bernards Healthcare has joined with InteliChart to provide a patient portal, a physician portal and health information exchange for its patients, physicians and other health care providers. St. Bernards patients will be able to access their health information from the medical center and from participating physician clinics via the Internet. Patients can access all electronic health record information, including results of laboratory and other testing, through a “patient portal” known as MyStB.info.

“St. Bernards Medical Center and the physician clinics associated with St. Bernards have been using electronic health records for some time,” says St. Bernards Healthcare president and chief executive officer Chris B. Barber. “At the hospital we use a system of barcoding to document every element of patient care, including medication management.

Not only will the patient be able to see information related to an inpatient stay and outpatient testing, but he or she will also be able to access information from St. Bernards-owned clinics including First Care, St. Bernards Heart & Vascular, St. Bernards Clopton Clinic, St. Bernards OBGYN and St. Bernards Senior Health Clinic. Records from other affiliated hospitals — Lawrence Memorial in Walnut Ridge and CrossRidge in Wynne — also are included in the system. The patient portal also will give clinics the ability to send information directly to patients, such as reminders that it is time for an annual checkup or time to get a flu shot. In addition to the patient portal, there will be a physician portal where providers can access all the health information about their patients from a single site. It will enable a physician to have a clear picture of the patient’s medical history through real-time entry of test results, giving the doctor more information.
