Eight diocesan seminarians will be installed as lectors, acolytes and candidates during a 10 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock Sunday, Dec. 17.
The admission to candidacy will be conferred on Jon Miskin of Little Rock, who has demonstrated the necessary qualifications for ordination.
Daniel Velasco of Searcy and Joseph Friend of Little Rock will be commissioned as acolytes to serve at the altar during Mass, assist in the purification of Communion vessels and take holy Communion to the sick.
Ben Riley, Emmanuel Torres and Brian Cundall, all of Little Rock, Alex Smith of Jacksonville, and Omar Galván of Fort Smith will become lectors, which will allow them to proclaim the Word of God during liturgies and catechize the faithful.
