Fifteen priests from India gathered recently in Pocahontas for a float trip. Fourteen of the priests are living in Arkansas and one is living in Missouri. Pastor Father Mariadass Vallapaneni and a group of parishioners from St. Paul Church in Pocahontas and St. John Parish in Engelberg hosted the trip at the Current River in Randolph County. They all gathered a day prior to the float trip to cook Indian meals and visit during the float trip.
The priests enjoyed an authentic Indian lunch and playing volleyball on the river banks. They also enjoyed an American meal provided by parishioners after their time at the river.
This was the second year for the outing and they hope to make it an annual event.
