Rosaries from Sacred Heart

Published January 11, 2019

100,000 shipped rosaries was the ambitious goal of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Rosary Makers in Hot Springs Village. The ladies meet every week to make rosaries to be sent off free of charge to any group that requests them nationally and internationally. This includes small villages, orphanages, hospitals, prisons, schools, military, other churches and Catholic Charities.

The rosaries are made of plastic beads and cord. The rosaries aren’t one size fits all. The ladies tailor the rosaries to the recipients. They are large enough to fit over the head because in some third-world countries, this is the only possession the recipient owns and must keep it safe. These are made in various colors. Military rosaries are also made to fit over the head as many soldiers wear them into combat. These are all black so as not to attract attention. Prison rosaries are all white. Black and purple Lenten rosaries and red, green and gold Advent rosaries are available on request as well as special requested colors for Bible study groups.

The group has been shipping off between 600 and 900 rosaries each month for the past several years.  Anyone who would like to learn more or join the mission, call Marge Newburn at (501) 922-9047.
