Nearly 90 students from St. Joseph High School in Conway took part in the Tacos 4 Life MobilePack School Challenge at the Conway Expo Center March 29. About a dozen schools and 1,500 students from Central Arkansas hand-packed meals bound for hungry children in 70 countries.
They worked a two-hour session that morning with other students during which 385 boxes containing 36 meals each were packed, which will feed 227 children for a year. When the two-day effort was completed more than 290,000 meals were packed that will reach over 800 children.
The meals are distributed internationally by the non-profit Feed My Starving Children.
