Mercy is providing three grants totaling $73,000 to three charities in Northwest Arkansas. The health care system is providing $500,000 in grants to nearly 30 organizations in seven states that serve children, elderly, homeless and uninsured people.
Since 1987, Mercy has awarded funds, now totaling more than $15 million, to provide medical care, counseling, housing and meals.
• Children’s Advocacy Center of Benton County in Rogers will provide free counseling to children and their families who are experiencing trauma symptoms.
• Samaritan House Community Center in Rogers will provide free oral health care to adults who are uninsured and unable to afford dental care.
• Loaves and Fishes Food Bank of the Ozarks in Berryville will use the funds for its weekend food pack program, which provides meals and snacks for hungry children in Berryville and Green Forest.
