CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs celebrated the grand opening Dec. 2 of the new Anthony Childbirth Center, a $3.5-million renovation that introduces a new family-centered labor and delivery model to southwest Arkansas.
Major renovations include 12 large, private birthing suites that keep mother and child together in the same room throughout labor, delivery, postpartum and recovery. Gov. Asa Hutchinson, representatives of the Catherine Cooper Anthony Charitable Trust and additional Anthony family members attended the event.
The new Anthony Childbirth Center occupies a private wing on the fourth floor of CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs, which cares for more than 1,000 births each year
