Rocket and Belles track and field teams competed at 6A state meet

State placements were hard to come by for the Catholic High Rockets and Mount St. Mary Academy Belles track and field teams. The squads competed in the 6A state meet at Little Rock Central May 6. 

The Belles 4x200m relay squad, made up of Elizabeth Kehner, Eva Powell, Amaria Love and Melody Small, placed ninth. Anna Haslauer, Pierce Sterling, Eleanor Blakely and Caroline Williams placed 12th in the 4x800m relay and Kehner, Blakely, Small and Ella Burdine placed 13th in the 4x400m relay. Powell, Love, Kate Raborn and Melody Snell also competed in the 4x100m relay. 

The Rockets’ best finish came in the 4x200m relay; Michael Krause, Owen Brewer, Caden McConnell and Owen Brewer placed ninth. Mick Kline, John Uekman, Walker Frueauff and Arden Semans placed 11th in the 4x400m, while Peter Jara, Matthew Paddock, Scott Massa and Justin Le were 13th in the 4x800m relay. Krause, McConnell, Brewer and Alex Neece competed in the 4x100m relay. 

Top individual finishes include Elias Found, 10th in the 3200m; Thomas Duch, 11th in the long jump; Krause, 12th in the triple jump and Uekman, 13th in the 400m.
