St. Bernard Heart & Vascular in Jonesboro opened the Piggott Cardiology Clinic March 6 in collaboration with the Piggott Health System. Interventional cardiologist Dr. Jamie Chavez and nurse practitioner Stephanie McMellon, both with the award-winning St. Bernards Heart & Vascular team, will see patients at the Piggott Cardiology Clinic. The current death rate for heart disease in Clay County sits higher than the overall rate for Arkansas as well as the national rate, according to CDC data.
