Former NBA star Joe Kleine attends rosary rally

Published September 12, 2023

Four hundred athletes and parents attended the Rosary Rally Sept. 6 at St. John Center in Little Rock. The Knights of Columbus provided hot dogs, chips and water. The event was organized by Mark Springer of the Knights of Columbus.
Joe Kleine, former NBA and Olympic basketball player and member of Christ the King Church in Little Rock, gave a talk about the importance of keeping faith as a priority in life. He acknowledged that it is hard in today’s society and that at times students may be ridiculed for expressing their faith. He stressed how vital prayer is in their lives now and in the future.

Catholic High School chaplain Father Patrick Friend opened the rosary, and student athletes from Mount St. Mary Academy led the Glorious Mysteries.
