Published May 14, 2024

Bishop Anthony B. Taylor installed seven diocesan seminarians as candidates, lectors and acolytes as part of their journey toward priesthood during special Masses in May at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock.

Phillip Necesary of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Rogers and Sam Stengel of St. Joseph Church in Paris were admitted to candidacy May 4, demonstrating qualifications for ordination.

On May 11, Joshua Osborne of St. Joseph Church in Conway was installed as a lector, allowing him to proclaim the Word of God during liturgies.

On May 18, four seminarians will be installed as acolytes. They are Tuan Do and Joseph Minh Phong Nguyen, both of St. Patrick Church in North Little Rock, Christopher Elser of Christ the King Church in Little Rock and Quinton Thomas of Blessed Sacrament Church in Jonesboro. They can serve at the altar during Mass, assist in the purification of Communion vessels and take holy Communion to the sick.
