Holy Rosary H2O For Life

Every day, almost a billion people make a three-hour journey to gather water. There is a water crisis throughout the world that is creating economic, social, educational, and life-threatening conditions.  We can help change that statistic for one school in the world. By providing improved water, toilets and hand washing facilities at schools, (which is called the WASH Initiative) we can help advance the general health of students improves, girls stay in school and educational opportunities are expanded throughout communities.  We are proud to inform you that Holy Rosary has partnered St. Michael Association for special education within Arizona.

We have the opportunity to provide a transformational service-learning opportunity for our students through H2O for Life, a 501c3 non-profit organization.  H2O for Life provides lesson plans and a global partner school connection for us. Our students will study the water crisis, learn about their partner school community and country, and will plan and implement an activity to raise funds to help bring water and sanitation to our partner school.

We are hoping to raise $2,573 to help St. Michael Association for special education. Ninety percent of what is raised will go directly to our school partner project, which will be matched dollar for dollar by the in-country implementing organization. The remaining 10 percent of funds raised helps H2O for Life provide educational materials, fundraising and website resources, and outreach efforts.  

 

We hope that all students in our school will benefit from our partnership with H2O for Life.  Students will be challenged to think about their own habits concerning water usage, and will develop awareness of the enormity of the issues surrounding water in our world.  We hope our school will be committed to make this project for St. Michael Association for special education a reality.
