Frances Uhiren Chudy passed away

Frances Marie Uhiren Chudy, of Hazen, passed away Saturday, August 6 at the age of 96.  She was born on March 6, 1926, in Hazen to the late Joe and Susan Uhiren of Carlisle.  After graduating from MountSt. Mary’s Academy in 1944, she married Edward P. Chudy on November 7, 1944 and raised four children. She was a parishioner of St. Rose Catholic Church in Carlisle and then Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Slovak.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; a brother; three sisters; son, Rick Chudy; and grandson, Rodney Brasko.  She is survived two daughters, Judy Braskoof Slovak and Carol (Tim) Marvin of Cabot; a son, Jim Chudy of Mountain View; 9grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She also leaves behind many other family and friends at her church and Chambers Nursing Home. 

Visitation was held on Saturday, August 13 at 9:30-10:30 am followed by the rosary in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Slovak.  The funeral Mass was Saturday also at 11 am in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church in Slovak.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery by Westbrook Funeral Home of Hazen. Memorials may be made to Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, St.Rose Catholic Church, or charity of donor’s choice.
