Harry Jones makes a big bubble as Mary Alex Lieblong seems astonished by its size during a science camp at St. Joseph School in Conway. The children made their own bubble wands and discussed the properties of bubbles.
Fifty-two elementary school aged children participated in a science camp held at St. Joseph School June 13-17. It was coordinated by science teacher Dianna Brown along with the help of her son, Lance, and St. Joseph teachers Lindsey Thompson, Courtney Pope and Jill Bausom. There were also several high school students who served as volunteer counselors. It was the fifth consecutive year for this summer camp.
"We want to keep kids interested in science," Brown said. "We try to make it a fun subject for them."
