Thanking our religious

Cathedral Mass celebrated jubilees in vowed religious life

Sisters Celestine Pond, OSB (front row, from left), Amabella, MC, Dorothy Calhoun, RSM, M. Donald, MC, and Ethel Marie Sonnier, OSB (back row), were recognized during Mass Sept. 29 by the Diocese of Little Rock for serving 25, 50, 60, 70 and 75 years of religious service.

Sister Angeline Poirier, RSM, of Barling, who was not present, was recognized for 80 years as a religious sister.

The religious gathered at the Cathedral of St. Andrew in Little Rock for a reflection on the Second Vatican Council and a Mass and dialogue with Bishop Anthony B. Taylor. Father Sam Anthony Morello, OCD, (right) was a concelebrant.

Other sisters and brothers not present who were honored were Sisters Irma Twenter, OSB, Corinne Lange, OSB, and Valeria Moellers, OSB, 75 years; Sister Josita Nahlen, OSB, 70 years; Sisters Christopher Flowers, OSB, and Patricia Jane Litter, RSM, 60 years; and Brother Ephrem O'Bryan, OSB, and Sister Cordis Kim, OSB, 50 years.
