Catholic schools detail enrollment, diversity statistics

The Office of Catholic Schools provided these statistics for the 2018-19 school year in the Diocese of Little Rock.

 

Enrollment

• Schools: 28
• Total enrollment: 6,643
• Elementary enrollment: 4,776
• Secondary enrollment: 1,867
• Percentage of Catholic students: 75.7
• Total enrollment in preschools: 678

Race and Ethnicity

• Percent of white students: 89.9
• Percent of multi-racial students: 4
• Percent of Asian students: 3.4
• Percent of black students: 1.8
(The remaining students are Native American, Pacific islanders or unknown.)
• Percent of Hispanic students: 14.9

Tuition

• Average tuition for elementary for first Catholic child: $3,242
• Average tuition for secondary: $6,865 (Catholic student) or $7,959 (non-Catholic student), not including Subiaco Academy, a boarding school.

Staff

• Total professional staff: 619
• Percentage of lay staff: 97.2
• Percentage of Catholic staff: 75.9

Spring Testing

All students in first to eighth grade take the Terra Nova National Achievement Test annually. Any score above the 50th percentile is above average.

First grade: 76
Second grade: 80
Third grade: 74
Fourth grade: 79
Fifth grade: 76
Sixth grade: 85
Seventh grade: 83
Eighth grade: 84
