Johanna Berryman, a member of St. Joseph Parish in Fayetteville, was one of 25 students from St. Louis University selected to attend The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice Nov. 3-7 in Washington D.C. The IFTJ is an annual gathering of members of the Ignatian family (Jesuit Institutions and larger Church) coming together in the context of social justice and solidarity to learn, reflect, pray, network and advocate together. Berryman’s essay on environmental recycling issues won her a spot to attend this year’s conference with more than 1,800 students from across the nation. Following the conference, students will travel to the capitol to discuss pressing issues with senators and representatives from their home states.
