The Diocese of Little Rock is hosting five ordinations in one week in August. On Aug. 11 Alex Smith will be ordained a deacon at St. Jude Church in Jacksonville, followed by the diaconate ordination of Omar Galván at Immaculate Conception Church in Fort Smith Aug. 12. Emmanuel Torres will be ordained a deacon Aug. 13 at St. Edward Church in Little Rock and Ben Riley and Brian Cundall will be ordained deacons Aug. 14 at Christ the King Church in Little Rock. All five men are scheduled to be ordained priests in 2021.
The priesthood ordination for Deacons Joseph Friend and Daniel Velasco has been moved to Christ the King Church in Little Rock Aug. 15. After their ordinations, Father Friend will serve in Morrilton, Conway and Center Ridge while Father Velasco will serve in Fort Smith.
The ordinations are open only to family and a limited number of close friends. The Masses will be livestreamed on the Arkansas Catholic Facebook page and the diocesan YouTube channel.
