Pax Christi Little Rock has joined forces with Jericho Way and Settled Souls to provide food for the pantries of formerly homeless residents moving into their new homes in Little Rock. On the first Sunday of each month, volunteers are asked to bring the food they’ve purchased to organize and pack all of the pantry boxes for four or five residents.
On Sept. 6 volunteers, including students from Mount St. Mary Academy, boxed up cereal, canned goods and other pantry items for five families who were placed in housing by Jericho Way. Settled Souls, a charity started by Our Lady of the Holy Souls Church in Little Rock, collects donated furniture and bedding for the formerly homeless residents. This is the first project Pax Christi has taken on that requires ongoing, consistent participation from its members and other volunteers.
