St. Joseph junior Luke Pope had a special senior ring ceremony April 14 in Conway. The junior class received their senior rings during a Mass. The entire class received new rings presented by pastor Father Tony Robbins, except Pope.
Luke’s mother, elementary school principal Courtney Pope, and the rest of the family decided to do something different with Luke's high school ring. Pope spoke to her father, retired educator John Jordan, who spent nearly 40 years in public education as a teacher, principal and superintendent. He is also a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph School. Together, they decided to give Jordan's ring to his grandson.
"It's really cool to have a ring that old," Luke Pope said. "It inspires me to be more like my grandpa."
