Mercy, with hospitals in Rogers and Fort Smith, announced July 26 that it has entered into a 10-year collaboration agreement with Mayo Clinic to share data and patient outcomes to find diseases earlier and help patients improve their health more quickly.
Mayo and Mercy were early adopters of integrated electronic health records, and for more than a decade have collected a vast amount of treatment outcomes and clinical data. Now with privacy-protected, cloud-based technology and artificial intelligence, Mercy and Mayo will use the data to pinpoint disease earlier and identify the best treatment options.
“With Mayo and Mercy combining efforts, we can speed prediction and diagnosis, and provide better patient care, experience and outcomes, while ultimately saving more lives,” Steve Mackin, Mercy’s president and chief executive officer, said.
