Hike to Health

Published May 1, 2024

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs partnered witht Hot Springs National Park April 27 for its first Hike to Health wellness event. The free program allowed the public to learn more about Hot Springs and its national parks, while exercising and engaging with CHI St. Vincent health professionals. The first event began at Whittington Park and featured cardiologist Dr. Jason Pelton, who discussed the benefits of regular exercise on heart health.

“Hot Springs has a rich history of personal renewal and commitment to health,” CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs president Dr. Doug Ross said.

During the Hike to Health event, Hot Springs National Park rangers offered a brief interpretive history talk. A 1- to 2-mile guided walk-and-talk followed.

An additional Hike to Health event will be held this spring, followed by two more in the fall. The events are free and open to the public, and registration is not required.
