More than 20 members of Pax Christi Little Rock, a Catholic social justice group, gathered to load 654 backpacks according to class supply lists for students at St. Theresa School, St. Edward School and Rockefeller Elementary, all in Little Rock.

This year, the Fraternal Order of Eagles donated $10,000 to Pax Christi, $5,000 of which was earmarked for school supplies. Members Sherry Martin, treasurer, and Marian Paquette purchased the school supplies on tax-free weekend, spending $7,045.14. Additionally, $500 worth of paper and notebooks were given to Pine Bluff schools.
