Arkansas Catholic hiring full-time business manager

Arkansas Catholic seeks a full-time business manager to handle business operations, including advertising, circulation, bookkeeping and other office duties. Qualified applicants must be practicing Catholics and have at least three years of experience as a business or office manager, preferably in a non-profit organization; computer and bookkeeping experience required. 

Generous benefits provided include health and dental insurance, retirement plan and paid time off and sick time. The business manager works five days a week at the most beautiful workplace in Little Rock, St. John Center, with occasional special events at other locations.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare annual budget and check monthly budget report for correct account posting. 
  • Post and deposit all monies received and process all check requests.
  • Mail notices for renewals and expirations,
  • Oversee all mailing projects, including distribution of diocesan directory.
  • Maintain relationship with USPS, including monitoring periodicals postage account weekly, staying current on postal regulations and rates.
  • Sell ads to those who request information for Arkansas Catholic, www.arkansas-catholic.org, Diocese of Little Rock Directory and aSpire, and follow-up with all inquiries.
  • Coordinate sale of Catholic Extension calendars.
  • Maintain subscription addresses and accounting information and prepare information for address labeling and postal reports for weekly Arkansas Catholic mailing.
  • Work with editor and digital specialist to increase subscriptions and readership, including Arkansas Catholic Digital

Qualifications:

  • Practicing Roman Catholic
  •  Minimum of three years of experience as a business or office manager
  •  Bachelor’s degree or some college preferred
  • Attention to detail, excellent written and verbal skills with ability to manage multiple job
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Internet, computer and bookkeeping/payables/receivables experience required.
