Celebration of the 150th anniversary of St. Mary of the Springs Church in Hot Springs May 9 focused on the past, the present and the future.
Current pastor Father George Sanders, incoming pastor Father Ravi Rayappa Gudipalli and former pastor Father Erik Pohlmeier, now of Little Rock, were joined by Father Bill Elser, pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Hot Springs Village.
“For years and years and years when you come to St. Mary’s people have found it is such a welcoming community,” Father Sanders said during the homily. “They keep coming back because they are coming home. They never forget what God has given.”
More than 150 people attended the Mass and banquet.
