Two Catholic high school teachers and two high school students in Little Rock were awarded the City Education Trust Award, also known as the Stephens Award. The Stephens Award honors the city’s top teachers and students for the 2023-2024 school year. A total of five students and five teachers were recognized. Students were given $5,000 scholarships while the teachers earned $5,000 cash prizes.
At Catholic High School, the awards were given to chemistry, biology and physical science teacher Elicia Davis and senior Reeves Bethel. At Mount St. Mary Academy, awards were given to senior Clara Principe and English instructor Monica Madey.
The recipients were honored during a ceremony and reception April 16 at the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce AT&T Auditorium.
